Safety Guidelines per Attraction
Nusa Penida Cliffs & Beaches (Kelingking, Diamond, Broken Beach, Angel's Billabong)
  • Cliff & Edge Safety: Stay behind safety barriers, ropes, and fences. Do not lean over cliff edges or climb over barriers for photos or selfies.
  • Trekking & Hiking: The descending paths to Kelingking and Diamond Beach are extremely steep, narrow, and unpaved. Wear sturdy closed-toe shoes or sneakers (do not wear flip-flops when hiking).
  • Ocean Currents & Swimming Restrictions:
    • High waves and dangerous undertows are common at Diamond Beach, Kelingking Beach, and Angel's Billabong.
    • Do not swim or wade in open ocean areas where red flags or warning signs are present.
    • At Angel's Billabong, do not enter the pool during high tide, as sudden large waves can pull visitors off the rocks.
Temple & Cultural Rules (Ubud & Denpasar)
  • Mandatory Dress Code:
    • Both men and women are required to cover their knees and shoulders when entering temple grounds (Tirta Empul, etc.).
    • Traditional sarongs and sashes (waistbands) are mandatory. (These are provided or can be rented at temple entrances).
  • Etiquette & Sacred Premises:
    • Purity Rules: Women who are menstruating or individuals with open bleeding wounds are traditionally requested not to enter the sacred inner temple grounds.
    • Head & Body Etiquette: Do not touch the heads of locals or children (the head is considered sacred in Balinese culture). Avoid pointing your feet at sacred altars or priests.
    • Water Ritual (Tirta Empul): Follow the instructions of local guides during the Melukat purification ritual. Change into a special wet sarong provided on-site.
