Car or Scooter Rental in Bali: Which Is Right for You?

Public transport is limited in Bali, so most visitors rent a vehicle or hire a driver. Each option has clear strengths.

Car with driver

Best for families, groups and long days. You can relax, carry luggage and avoid parking or navigation stress. It is also the safest choice if you are unfamiliar with local traffic.

Self-drive car

Gives you freedom, but roads are narrow and traffic drives on the left. You will need a valid licence that is accepted in Indonesia.

Scooter

Cheap and quick in congested areas. Wear a helmet, avoid riding at night if you are inexperienced and check that your insurance covers it.
